The hair studio was already there, but Erin, the owner told me that she and her husband started the other services in July. Erin said that a beauty bar where you can serve cocktails, beer and wine was already a popular concept in Florida where she moved from and thought it would be a hit in Indy.
I’m all good with it. Most spas give you a choice of water or tea or maybe even a mimosa, but a place where you can get cosmos and bourbon on the rocks, sign me up. The decor was really nice with the manicure area being set up just like a bar. They are an Aveda salon, so Aveda products it is. Everything is already set and ready to go. I’ll have to go back for a pedicure because those chairs looked so comfy. I normally like bright colors on my nails, but since I am prone to my nails chipping a day after being polished, I decided to try a nude shade. At the recommendation of some of the ladies in the salon I tried CND VinyLux polish, which is supposed to last for seven days. I sure hope so because I love the way my nails look. I still had some cuticle oil on, but I’m really loving this nude polish. It’s just enough color, but if it chips it won’t be so noticeable. The basic manicure cost $25, which is pretty standard and it took probably 45 minutes from start to dry. It includes shaping, polish, hand massage, hot towel and cuticle treatment. Other services like a pedicure cost $35 and a custom facial starts at $45, but for the month of August, facials and waxing are 40 percent off. *deal alert* Cocktails will cost you $8.50 and wine ranges from $5 to $7, but if you’re a not a drinker they have non-alcoholic beverages as well. Walk-ins are welcomed, but it’s best to make an appointment. Do you think you’ll be checking them out soon? -WHITNEY-
